Who needs talent anyway?

The mind is the limit

It suddenly hit me that Olympic athletes don’t just train their bodies, they also train their minds! Is mental training the key that separates the good from the great?

It is devastating when someone ends up hospitalized and loses tons of progress. But with the right mental training, despite having less time to prepare physically, it is still possible to win Olympic gold! Harness the power of the mind and the options are endless.

The thing that really hit me about this is that mental training isn’t just beneficial in sports but also in other aspects of life. In other words, people like you and me can use it too! To become a better artist or musician, to get better at your job, to achieve whatever it is you wish to achieve! Why be stuck with a whiny mind that makes you feel stuck when you can coach it into glory and success?
I want to play with mental training too! Also, after having been surrounded by cardboard moving boxes for a while, my mind could do with some coaching.

Jokes aside, it must be really interesting to see how life develops once one takes a tiny bit more control over one’s actions. Despite having read a good amount books on philosophy, physical health and mental health, the idea of training the mind never really occurred to me. Since I don’t know where to start, what else is there to do then to pick up yet another book? Wish me luck!

With love,

Heleen Charlotte.
