Who needs talent anyway?

Something’s Cooking

But I can’t give you the details yet. So for now, let’s call it Project Soup.

There are creatives in my hometown. I can feel it, even though I cannot see them. Like me, they probably are more at home than anywhere else, only making it to The Outside when they need to. How do I know? Well, let me tell you:

Supplies for creative people are scattered around town. From filament to Fine Art stuff you’d really only expect to find in an art shop, which this town does not have anymore. The Manga & Fantasy section in book shops has exploded. (Yes, dear Manga readers, I accuse you of being creative people!) You can buy analog film rolls and cameras but there’s no one nearby to develop them. Young people are trying to start boardgame shops, only to disappear within a few months. Every time I see a sign like that, I feel like Sauron’s eye awakens within me, saying “I SEE YOU”

Oops, now I made it creepy. Ah well, let us continue.

Project Soup is going to make you all come together, and maybe even communicate together, to become one great big happy awkward gang of creative people that will make this town light up like a Starlink light polluting piece of space tech! On Earth.

Budgeting is where we’re at right now. Ideas on paper, scouting around for a location that suits our needs. Reaching out to the kind of people that can help us with the boring-but-important stuff. So much to do, such excitement!

With love,
Heleen Charlotte
